Studio/Galleri

We are preferably looking for a graphic designer, photographer or writer in terms of keeping an optimal group dynamic. It is in itself a very beautiful, giving and comfortable yet inspiring place with a great energy, and we are continually working on making it even greater! “Make rhizomes, not roots, never plant! Don’t sow, grow offshoots! Don’t be one or multiple, be multiplicities! Run lines, never plot a point! Speed turns the point into a line! Be quick, even when standing still! Line of chance, line of hips, line of flight. Don’t bring out the General in you! Don’t have just ideas, just have an idea.” Deleuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus (1980) Rhizomx is a collaboration between Sofie Seemann and Adrian Calin. Together we opened Rhizom Gallery which is named after Deleuze and Guattari’s philosophical concept described in the book A Thousand Plateaus. Besides hosting art exhibitions, workshops, concerts and other events, the gallery also functions as a studio where we have our daily practice accompanied by our two amazing new colleagues. Since we began collaborating in August last year, we’ve mostly experimented with installation, ready-mades and painting, and we share a common passion for living life artistically, making otherwise invisible powers and affects visible, ever overcoming trauma with and through art and philosophy. We don’t identify, we become.
